Developing Personal Power and Effectiveness
The Developing Personal Power and Effectiveness (DPPE) program is an intensive six-month leadership development program. It has been designed to assist leaders in developing their capability to inspire others to extraordinary performance consistently.
The promises of the program are that the participants will:
1. demonstrate their leadership through powerful listening and speaking,
2. be effective coaches,
3. lead not only their teams, but across organizational boundaries to deliver extraordinary business results, and
4. develop networks of support that leverage successful organizational initiatives
The participants will develop an ability to have conversations and think from such leadership distinctions that enable them to invent the future. They will become aware of what robs them of their personal power and how to recover it in the moment. The growth of the participant is most powerfully measured by looking at how those around them are altered in their presence and empowered to take effective action that fulfill on organization goals..
Who should attend?
As the program is a six-month inquiry into how one impacts others through their leadership, candidates must be willing to engage in a self-examination of who they are as a leader and the barriers that may be impeding the full expression of their capabilities. They must be willing to explore and test new ways of leading themselves and others. This type of self-discovery is not appropriate for fixing problem performers. The candidates must already be performing at a high level and be seen as having the potential to move into positions requiring them to provide leadership and influence across organizational boundaries. Obviously, those in various high potential programs would be natural candidates, as would those targeted to become leaders and executives.
This program benefits greatly from having a very diverse group of participants - gender, ethnicity, nationality, age, grade level, and ways of viewing themselves and the world around them.
Program Design
DPPE is a six-month program. Every program element has been carefully designed to ensure the sustainability of the learning and new performance. Key elements include group sessions with significant conversation and peer learning, small group coaching between the group sessions for application, and significant involvement of the participant's supervisor through their participation in monthly coaching groups.
